Last night Stephen50 of Pompey1 (38,48) attacked Sala, twice. I wrote to him and to his alliance leader but it did not help. I sent out calls for any and all to attack that city, even our allies. As of yet nobody else has arrived. I knew my men would arrive first, with the mission of doing all the damage they could do against his walls defenses. They gave their lives doing just that and died honorably. The following is the report:
06:00 my first wave arrived at pompey1 (38,48) i sent what I had available and they travelled all night. Knowing they were surely going to their death they marched bravely on. In hopes that at some point others would join into the mission but knowing at that hour of the night the chances were slim. 196 workers (to carry the food) and 300 pikeman died after 16 rounds of attack..
No damage was done to the enemy's 200 archery towers, but 246 of his 320 traps was destroyed. No damage to the 266 Abatis.
At 6:39 the next wave arrived and 250 workers and 463 archers fought bravely. 41 of his 200 archery towers were taken out and 76 of his remaining 86 traps were destroyed and none of the 266 Abatis (but I used no cavalry) The fight lasted 16 rounds before the last man died.
It was impossible to send more because I was out of workers and it is too far for the soldiers to carry their own food. So I will continue to build and at some point in the near future return with siege weapons and plenty of soldiers and help and we will leave those coordinates as they were before such a dishonorable speck as stephen50 built his first cottage.

I guess he was able to rebuild those towers, I'm so pissed that I don't have the siege gear to take him down easily but well in 30 min I'll have enough food to send my troops and I'm sending absolutely everything I've got in my main city Pliska(he's close like 1h30 from there) namely:

According to the exercice my whole cavalry and 50% of my infantry gets slaughtered and I win but it doesn't take into account the fortifications.
I don't know even if I lose, that's not the point, the point is that this guy has to know that this is an alliance which he shouldn't be messing with :)

Ok so I sent my troops there but it's not that close actually - it's going to take them 2h30min to get there I'll keep you posted about the outcome.

ReplyDeleteWell I hit him pretty hard I guess...destroyed all his 75 traps, out of 288 he's got 17 left and out of 266 abatis he has 104 left. I had sent transport and was able to take all his ressources so it will be harder for him to rebuild quickly.
The problem is that I didn't touch his troops, I fought only with the fortifications after I scouted him here's his report:

I think that he did not open the gates to fight, they open automatically at Loyalty 0 but after we fought he's left with 51 (-3 from my attack). I don't know how it works first you have to destroy the walls? And then he would have no choice but to fight...
I'll see if I can send my troops again later,firs I need 35000 gold to cure them, fortunately he had 24000 which I'm getting in 2h, all my cavalry died along with 8 warriors, 328 pikeman, 7 swordsman and 698 archers.

ReplyDeleteAppreciate the help Bai...I'm thinking first..we need to all make sure we have an embassy and hopefully upgraded to a 2 or 3 in our secondary cities so that we can reinforce from within the attacked city...and 2cnd...even though he is rebuilding as we speak, if we all work out a way to hit this guy at 8pm Thursday evening..like for me I'd have to launch at about 1pm to arrive there at 8pm..but we could all arrive united?
ReplyDeleteOk ALL...PLEASE enter your embassies and check the box to allow allied troops to garrison or we can't reinforce you in battle...we have to attack the attacking city and that is giving them the high ground
ReplyDeleteCir here...Ok all I have upgraded my city hall and got a teleport. I have relocated to Friesland and sent Injun Joe my new coords in the mail. I am working on rebuilding my stockpile of resources so that I can send troops for Friday. I will also upgrade my embassy from 2 to 3.

ReplyDeleteI just sent my troops again to stephen50 he has rebuilt a bit - still no troops but 20 archer's towers, 100 traps and 156 abatis. I sent some cavalry on this suicide mission so he should have less abatis and as for the rest I should take it out.
My troops will be there by 8h50 central time and then Injun's will follow shortly after, he's going to love it :)

ReplyDeleteI'm making cataphracts now. Narvarchus of the Myrmidons sent me a letter gloating that some member of my tribe gave him my coordinates. I invited his royal self to come alone if he was brave enough and enjoy a fine dinner.
I find it curious that both he and the head of the undead both refer to "someone" in our group.
Either it is a common strategy to instigate distrust, or we do have a spy amongst us, or we have someone who innocently communicating with people in other tribes, shares information. No matter, but interesting.
